Compare VPNs

For the VPN itself, start with PureVPN Standard: it includes the VPN and supports ten simultaneous connections. Assess higher bundles by their extras. Plus adds a password manager, while Max includes breach monitoring and a service that sends personal-data removal requests. These extras justify paying more if you intend to use them.

Android and iOS apps offer a seven-day free trial followed by a subscription. On iOS, it is for accounts that have not used a trial before. Cancel before billing under the store's terms if you do not want the subscription.

Long offers can have different initial and renewal periods. For example, a 27-month introductory term can be followed by annual billing. Compare both the charge and duration of each period: a monthly equivalent does not mean the same payment schedule.

Pricing & renewal

Compare the full initial charge with the renewal charge. Monthly equivalents spread the charge across the access period; they do not mean you pay monthly. Prices checked on September 11, 2026.

Free options

Android and iOS offer a 7-day free trial when signing up in the app. On iOS, it is limited to accounts that have not used a trial before; a paid subscription follows unless cancelled. Check the store confirmation before subscribing.

Ownership & jurisdiction

Who runs the VPN?

GZ Systems Limited (registered in British Virgin Islands) is the company named as providing the VPN service. Purchases through app stores or resellers may involve other companies; we have not confirmed those arrangements.

Which laws apply?

The terms specify British Virgin Islands law and courts, with separate rules for disputes handled through arbitration.

Audits & findings

Each audit covers particular systems and a particular point in time. A provider announcement is distinct from a publicly available audit report.

An independent review supports the no-logs claim within the systems and period examined. It is not a security review of every application.

No-logs review

KPMG LLP · 2023

What was checked: Seven servers in six countries, examined in February 2023, with follow-up validation in March and April.

Findings: The public letter supports four claims: no recording of original IPs, assigned VPN IPs, connection times or VPN activity.

Limitations: Only a summary is public; the detailed findings are not included.

Censorship resistance

Relevant mainly where VPN services are blocked

If you are in the US, a European country, or elsewhere and VPN services are not blocked on your network, these results need not rule this VPN out of your purchase decision. A failed test under blocking in Russia does not, by itself, mean the VPN is poor quality or will not work where you live. Consider its speed, features and price for your needs.

In our tests in Russia, we could not establish a working VPN connection that allowed data transfer under VPN blocking.

A working connection today may be blocked tomorrow

Blocking changes over time and can differ between networks. A successful test shows that a connection worked in the tested conditions; it does not guarantee that it will work elsewhere or keep working.

Detecting VPN traffic

Filtering equipment can identify patterns in a VPN connection, including how a protocol starts a session. It can then prevent the connection or interrupt data transfer. Traffic obfuscation can make these patterns harder to recognise, but it does not prevent every kind of blocking.

Blocking server IP addresses

A censor can also block known VPN server addresses or entire IP ranges. If all traffic to an address is blocked on your network, disguising the VPN protocol alone will not make that server reachable.

What about your own VPN server?

A privately used server may be less exposed than a public VPN server, and traffic obfuscation may help it avoid detection. But its IP address is still visible to your internet provider and can be blocked. Running your own server gives you more control, not guaranteed access, and requires setup and maintenance.
